Blends

For centuries people have blended teas together to create new tastes, flavours, aromas and experiences. Some blends, such as English Breakfast and Earl Grey are well known, whilst others are less so. We can also mix together and offer advice for any blend the customer suggests.

English Breakfast

A traditional blend of carefully selected Assam, Ceylon and Kenya teas. Robust and flavoursome, good at any time of the day, not just for breakfast.

Large Leaf English Breakfast

For those who like a milder tea, we take high quality large leaf Assam and Ceylon teas and blend them together for a more refined take on English Breakfast. Winner of a 2009 one star Great Taste Award.

Assam/Ceylon

An interesting blend of two medium leaf teas combining the strength and malty flavours of the Assam and the citric flavours of the Ceylon. A traditional tea with a difference.

Water Blend

A very strong, hearty blend of Indian and African teas. Blended specifically for soft water areas such as Lancashire, Yorkshire and the surrounding area.

Russian Caravan

A traditional blend of Chinese teas including Oolong and Keemun. Named after the journey that the tea would make to Russia on the old Silk Roads. Perfect black or with a slice of lemon, but will take a dash of milk.

Earl Grey

A blend of large leaf black China teas flavoured with oil of bergamot. It is named after a Prime Minister from the 1830s who received the bergamot oil as a gift and added it to his tea to suit the water at the family home in Northumberland. Best served black, but equally good with milk or lemon.

Citrus Grey

A harmonious blend of traditional Earl Grey with orange and lemon to tone down the taste of the bergamots.  Originally named after the wife of Earl Grey who found her husband’s taste in tea to be a touch strong. Legend has it that she added dried orange and lemon peel to make it more palatable for herself. Best served without milk.
