Meet the team

Mark Smith

Owner

Starting out roasting tiny half pound batches of beans on Todmorden market, Mark has used his vast knowledge of coffee and the demand of a good cup to increase Exchange Coffee to 5 outlets plus a wholesale department.

Richard Isherwood

General Manager

Started as manager of the Blackburn shop in 1991 and became General Manager in 1999.

Chris Tattersall

Wholesale Manager

Trained as a barista on our Todmorden Cappuccino bar, moving to our Clitheroe Shop for holiday work while studying at Leeds University. Transfered to the wholesale side of the business after university and started learning the art of roasting coffee. Now responsible for purchasing green coffee along with welcoming new customers. I have a continued passion for learning about coffee and sharing that knowledge with anyone who will listen.

Ruth Lazell

Manager

Ruth started with us at Exchange Coffee back in 2006 when we had the Cappuccino Bar within Blackburns old 5 day market. Upon fairly recent developments with the new and moved market, Ruth has run the new Cappuccino bar since.

Anne Burgess

Manager

Anne started working for Exchange Coffee in 2001 as our food kitchen cook at our Clitheroe Shop. After showing interest in the retail side and roasting, in 2004 Anne crossed the border to Yorkshire at our Skipton shop becoming manageress.

Adam Wolstenholme

Manager

Adam is a long standing member of Exchange Coffee and has run the Cappuccino Bar in Todmorden Market for close to 20 years now. A familiar face to the people of Todmorden, Adam still enjoys using his barista skills and passing on his coffee knowledge.
