Produced at the Devagiri Estate in Yakkalamulla in southern Sri Lanka. Made from the finest hand picked tender leaves and tips. The result is a strong, robust tea with malty undertones and a wonderfully rich aroma. Best brewed with boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Ideal for those who prefer a full bodied cup of tea with a splash of milk.
We buy both of our Sri Lankan teas directly from the Devagiri Estate via the owners, Rosh and Mike. It was Rosh’s Grandfather who established the estate in 1947 and dedicated his life to producing the finest teas in southern Sri Lanka. Rosh and Mike bought the estate in 2023 and set upon the task of modernising the production facilities and developing a more direct trade between the estate and tea merchants in the UK. The estate in uniquely positioned next to the Kottawa rainforest, making the soil rich in naturally occurring nutrients and combined with the warm breeze from the Indian ocean make these teas some of the best we’ve ever tasted.
