Decaffeinated Taster Box

Each box contains a bag of each of our four naturally decaffeinated coffees. Two medium roasts and two darker roasts make this box the ideal way to discover decaffeinated coffee or a great gift for someone who drinks decaf. At the moment all of our decaf coffees are Mountain Water Process. Mountain Water Process is a chemical-free decaffeination method that uses water from Pico de Orizaba, the highest mountain in Mexico and is produced at the Descamex facility in Chiapas. Green coffee is first soaked in this mountain water, allowing caffeine and other soluble compounds—like oils and flavour elements—to extract into the liquid. The water is then filtered to remove only the caffeine, creating a saturated solution. Fresh batches of green coffee are then soaked in this solution, which, being already full of coffee solubles (except caffeine), draws out just the caffeine while preserving most of the beans’ original flavour.
