Mate

This is a herb grown in various South American countries. The national drink of Argentina, it is said to be rich in antioxidants and anticarcinogens. It also gives energy and acts as a stimulant. Drunk without milk, it has a slightly smokey flavour due to the leaves being toasted. Sugar or honey can be added as a sweetener.
