The Green Land Estate was founded in 1999 by U Sai Wan Maing after he sold his rubber plantation.Located in Pyin Oo Lwin, a scenic hill town known for its botanical gardens and colonial architecture. Sitting at 1150 metres above sea level it is in the east of Myanmar and forms part of the Indo-Malayan mountain system. Green Land is one of Myanmar’s largest coffee plantations and produces mainly the Catimor vaiety which is known locally as Costa Rica, where the varietal originally came from. Once picked the cherries are immediately separated from the beans and hand sorted to remove the defects. In the cup expect a smooth flavour with a fudge like sweetness and hints of dates with a nutty finish and aroma. Suitable for all brewing methods we particular like to brew this as a cafetiere or filter.
