Grown at altitudes of up to 1220 MASL on a picturesque farm in the community of Aranjuez in the mountains of Jinotega. This coffee is grown by Ixil Borter Torrez who started growing coffee after living in Europe and the US where she spoke to many roasters and coffee shop owners in order to understand their needs and what they need from a direct trade speciality coffee exporter. Ixil cares deeply about the environment and has planted mor than 17,000 trees at her farm. She believes that “the birds, bees, rivers and soil are like treasures” and treats them accordingly. This is evident in the taste. A single varietal red catuai, naturally processed and sun dried. Expect a caramel sweetness with hints of nuts and red apple. A silky body, mild citric acidity and a clean aftertaste mean this coffee is suitable for all brewing methods.
