South of the capital city, San Jose, are the majestic mountains of the Tarrazu region. They are sheltered between the Pacific Coast, the Central Valley and the high peaks of the country's central mountain range. Tarrazu, known as the Area of the Saints is world renowned for producing for producing the best coffee Costa Rica has to offer at altitudes between 1200 and 2000 metres above sea level. A combination of rich volcanic soil, high altitude and the right growing conditions make this coffee soft and sweet with notes of plum and chocolate with a creamy body and delicate acidity that reminds us of lemon curd. Suitable for all brewing methods.
